Day 1
Evening in the desert
Pickup from the Red Sea resort, 4x4 or quad as booked (a licence is sometimes required for quads — say if you prefer 4x4 only). Dunes, sunset, a Bedouin-style dinner and tea, return after dark.
We keep groups small when we can. Not a staging of clichés — a simple evening outside the hotel gardens.
Open bar and photo packages are extras. Closed shoes; the sand is still hot at dusk in summer.

When should we book a balloon or felucca?
Balloon flights in Luxor are weather-dependent and fill in high season; we confirm Bedouin Dinner in the Desert as soon as your dates are firm, and rebook or refund the flight portion if the sky closes. A felucca hour in Aswan is simpler and can often be added the day before.
Is this suitable for children?
Many experiences work well with children when paced kindly. Balloon baskets have weight and age rules; diving needs swimming ability and a medical form; ARGY and some Giza events have a 21+ door. Tell us ages when you enquire.
How far in advance should I book?
For winter (October–April) and event dates — festivals, concerts, the 2027 eclipse — book as soon as you can. Shoulder season can often be arranged with a few weeks’ notice. Hotels in Luxor for 2 August 2027 sell out early.
Can this itinerary be customised?
Yes. Bedouin Dinner in the Desert is a starting point. We adjust days, hotels, meals and extras (Abu Simbel, balloon, a pyramid interior) once we know who is travelling and what you want to skip.
How do payments work?
Published trips can be reserved on the site. For a custom amount we send a secure payment link. You receive written confirmation, inclusions and our cancellation terms before you travel.
Who will be our guide?
A licensed Egyptologist or local specialist, in French or English as you prefer. We introduce them before the day whenever we can. Drivers are not substitutes for guides at ticketed sites.
What about visas, packing and insurance?
Most visitors need a tourist visa (e-visa or on arrival). Pack light layers, modest dress for mosques, and sun protection. Comprehensive medical insurance with evacuation is required and not included. Full notes: visa, packing, health and insurance pages.
